At present there are two(2) Sports Academy being run under the Department of Sports & Youth Welfare.
These are :
- Football Academy
- Boxing Academy
Both the academies run a residential training programme for upcoming and talented footballers and Boxers. The Academies are functioning in Sarusajai Sports complex.
Achievement of State Boxing & Football Academy
State Football Academy:
- 5 talented footballer of the State Football Academy are selected to represent the India School Football Team in the Asia Pacific School Games, 2015 which was held at Adelaide, Australia.
- The following footballers are selected by the Indian Football Federation on Indian Football Team
- Sri Aman Chetry – U-17 World Cup
- Sri Adarsh Rai Das – U-15 India Team
- Sri Bikash Gurung, Participated under 16 yrs. boys South Asian Games (Football) in Bangladesh in the year 2016 and Federation Cup Match in Germany
- The following players are selected U-19 I league Football Championship at Lajong Club, Shillong during 2015-16
- Sri Tridip Boro,
- Sri Chironjit Gogoi
- Sri Mushukha Narzary
- Ranish Ahmed selected for Raising Football Club, 2nd Division I-League Championship in Shillong for the two years agreement and he joined on 3rd June, 2016.
- Sri Adarsh Rai Das selected for National Football Academy at Goa, 10-09-2016, to participate in Friendship Cup Game in Egypt and he awarded International Cup Subroto Mukherjee Scholarship, Rs. 15,000.00
- Sri Krishnanu Mech for being selected for the Reliance Foundation Young Football Championship. Final selection camp on April, 2017 in Mumbai
- State Football Academy was the winner U-14 boys in Sunfest Cup Football Championship, 2015, which was held at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
- Sri Biki Tamang and Sri Tsering Lama participated in the All India Jr. Football Championship for B.C. Roy Trophy, 2016-17 held at Chhattishgarh.
- State Football Academy was the winner U-14 boys in Sunfest Cup Football Championship, 2017, which was held at Gauhati University Playground, Guwahati. Runner-up in North East Sunfeast Cup Championship, which was held at Nehru Stadium, Guwahati.
- Sri Anupam Borgohain was selected from the Academy to play Open National Sub. Jr. Football Tournament at Maharashtra.
State Boxing Academy:
- 6 Talented boxers won Gold, Silver and Bronze Medal in the Inter District Boxing Championship, 2015 held at Titabor, Jorhat
- Miss Ankushita Boro received Bronze Medal in Youth National Women Boxing Championship, 2016 and she was selected for Indian team Trial Camp for Women Youth World Cup, 2017.
- 3 talented boxers are selected for Youth National Boxing Championship, 2017

Miss Amisha Kumari Bharti received Silver medal in National level PYKKA meet held at Puducherry, 2016.
