  • NATIONAL CADET CORPS (NCC)

     

     

    National Cadet Corps (NCC): National Cadet Corps (NCC) is one of the Flagship programmes under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. There are 5 NCC Group Headquarters and 27 NCC Units under the Group Headquarters in Assam. The Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Govt. of Assam has been extending financial assistance annually to the NCC Authorities for conducting various programmes for NCC Cadets of the State such as holding of Republic Day Camp, Thal Sainik Camp, Vayu Sanik Camp, Nau Sanik Camp. The NCC cadets on completion of their training are conferred “B” & “C” Certificates.

    AWARDS AND INCENTIVES

    • Bir Chilarai Award is given to 4 best NCC cadets from Senior Division Boys, Senior Wing Girls, Junior Division Boys and Junior Wing Girls of Assam since 2007.
    • The Award consists of Rs 25,000/- each along with a Certificate and Medal.
    • A new scheme has been adopted from this year to encourage the NCC activities in the State by conferring cash incentives of Rs 10,000/- each to the best 54 Associate NCC Officers (ANOs) and 54 NCC Cadets, and Rs 1 lakh to 5 best NCC Units.
